The Position
This position is intended for emerging or recent graduate with some experience using quantitative, qualitative and/or mixed methods skills, some technical familiarity with youth development or a related field, an interest in deepening their expertise in these areas (and adding to their own portfolio of work products) and learning about the ways that monitoring and evaluation supports a learning organization. The ideal colleague will combine technical skills + lived experience and a commitment to make data and information accessible, meaningful, and actionable with learning organizations and the communities we love. What You’ll Do:
Assist with data collection, including administering surveys, conducting interviews, and taking observation notes.
Collaborate with researchers to conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis
Contribute to efforts to share research findings through written, oral, and/or other means
Prepare, review, and critique measurement & evaluation tools for implementation
Manage the formatting, synthesis, and visualization of research outcomes for practical use and decision making
Scan for and synthesize research articles relevant to client work

This internship provides the ideal student candidate opportunities to build skills in data management, data analysis, evaluation design and implementation, data visualization and innovative reporting, and facilitation. They will have extensive contact with a variety of mission-driven organizations nationally and will learn/enhance their skills:
designing program monitoring and evaluation tools
implementing program monitoring and evaluation tools in a fast-paced environment.
analyzing monitoring and evaluation data for immediate use.
Qualifications
What you bring:
Demonstrated experience in/with:
building rapport with people from a diverse range of racial and ethnic identities, genders, and abilities
statistical analysis
project and/or program management
data/evidence collection, assessment, analysis and synthesis
working independently and cohesively with internal/external groups and collaboratives.
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English required
Fluent in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word
Who you are:
Current student or recent grad, preferably in Macro social work, Evaluation, and/or coursework in monitoring & evaluation research methods, and quantitative and qualitative analysis
Working Environment:
Position Term: January 1 - August 30, 2023
Hours: Minimum 15 hours per week; preference to candidates seeking more hours ($30/hour)
