Data Analyst Purpose:
With a keen eye for detail, the Data Analyst ensures the precision, reliability, and usability of BOTN client data. The ideal candidate is a client-focused problem solver who enjoys transforming information into clear, actionable insight.
Responsibilities:
Extract and gather data from various sources, such as databases, APIs, spreadsheets, or other data collection tools.
Collaborate with project leads to understand data structures and schemas.
Identify and posit solutions for missing or incomplete data using appropriate techniques (e.g., imputation, interpolation, or deletion).
Perform data transformations, such as formatting, type conversions, or normalization, to ensure data consistency.
Conduct exploratory data analysis to understand data patterns, trends, and relationships (when appropriate).
Utilize statistical techniques and data visualization tools (e.g., charts, graphs, plots) to analyze and interpret data.
Perform simple to moderately complex data analysis tasks, such as segmentation, clustering, or regression analysis.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate data insights into actionable recommendations.
Synthesize findings from data analysis into clear and concise reports or presentations.
Maintain accurate documentation of data sources, transformations, and analysis processes.
Ensure proper data storage, backup, and archiving procedures in adherence to data governance policies and security protocols.
Candidate Skills and Experience
We’re looking for a very particular set of skills. Here’s what you’ll bring to the table.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R, or Excel).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Basic knowledge of statistical methods and data mining techniques.
Experience transforming data in the Microsoft products suite, or similar.

No project management experience
Beginner-level tech skills
No experience working with a remote-first team
Limited availability for Zoom calls during business hours
Compensation
This is a 1099 contracted position for up to 50 hours between 5/1 and 7/1/2024 at $55/hour.
